Using R-2000 As Our Minimum Standard
R-2000 is a voluntary energy efficiency standard for new houses developed by the Office of Energy Efficiency of Natural Resources Canada, in cooperation with Canadian home-building professionals and the housing industry. As the owner of an R-2000 home, you will receive legal documents from Natural Resources Canada certifying that your home was built and tested to the R-2000 Standard.
An R-2000 home integrates features designed to improve indoor air quality and to conserve energy, water and other natural resources. A WISA R-2000 home typically saves between 40 and 80% of energy compared with the latest code-compliant home.
